Getting Started

How do I install the HVAC IQ Sensor?
See our complete Installation Guide with step-by-step instructions for mounting the device, connecting sensors, and verifying operation. Typical install takes 20-30 minutes.
Where do I find my device IMEI?
The IMEI is printed on the label on the back of your HVAC IQ Sensor. It's also shown in your dashboard under Device Settings after pairing.
How do I add my device to my account?
Devices auto-register when they first power on and connect via LTE. You'll see a new device appear in your dashboard within a few minutes. You can then rename it and assign it to a location.
Does the device need Wi-Fi?
No. The HVAC IQ Sensor connects via LTE cellular — no Wi-Fi setup required. Just plug in power and it automatically connects and starts sending data.

Troubleshooting

My device shows "Offline" — what should I check?
Verify the device has power (green LED). Check LTE signal strength — the device needs cellular coverage to communicate. If the LED is solid but no data appears, try power-cycling the unit by unplugging for 10 seconds.
Temperature sensor shows 0°F or no reading
Ensure the probe is making firm physical contact with the duct surface and is securely attached. Check that the sensor cable is fully plugged in to the monitor. See the temperature sensor section of the install guide.
Amp sensor always reads 0A or shows a constant high value (25-35A)
If reading 0A: verify the CT clamp is around a single conductor (not the whole cable) and that the sensor cable is fully plugged in. If reading 25-35A constantly, the sensor connection may be loose — unplug and re-seat the sensor cable firmly. Contact support if the issue persists.
Data stopped coming in but device LED is still on
The SIM card may have exhausted its data plan. Check your SIM provider's portal. Also try power-cycling the device. If the issue persists, contact support with your device IMEI.

Features & AI

What does the AI analyze?
The AI engine monitors temperature trends, amp draw patterns, and cycle timing to detect issues like failing capacitors, dirty filters, refrigerant leaks, bearing wear, and more — often before a breakdown occurs. It runs automatically on your data.
How do I set up alerts?
Open your device page in the dashboard, scroll to the Alert Settings section, and configure thresholds for temperature, amperage, or online/offline status. Alerts are sent via email and (on Fleet+ plans) SMS.
What is the IQ Score?
The IQ Score (0-100) is an overall health rating for your HVAC system based on sensor readings, cycle patterns, and historical trends. 90+ is excellent, 70-89 is good with minor concerns, below 70 needs attention.
How many AI chat messages do I get per month?
It depends on your plan: Free tier gets 5 messages/month, Solo Tech gets 50, Fleet gets 200, and Enterprise gets 500. You can check your remaining messages in the AI chat interface. View pricing plans.

Billing & Account

How does billing work?
HVAC IQ Pro uses per-device monthly billing through Stripe. You're billed based on how many devices are active on your account. Volume discounts apply at 3+, 10+, and 25+ devices. See pricing.
Can I pause my subscription?
Yes. You can pause monitoring on any device from your dashboard. Paused devices stop billing but retain all historical data. Reactivate anytime.
How do I add team members?
On Fleet and Enterprise plans, go to the Fleet Dashboard and click "Manage Team." You can invite technicians, dispatchers, and read-only viewers by email.
